Most every thing I post is SOC with little post processing and I work with the light available at the time (and since I don't do early most of the time it is mid-day bright light). I will try to remember to let you know if I have cropped or tweeked.

Pearls > Monday, 12-21-09 - Orange

We got back home safe and sound late this afternoon. Lisa and I are both exhausted but so glad we went this weekend. We spent Sat. just hanging around with Bob and talking, then on Sun we went to church service and then over to Bobby's house to pack up pictures and other irreplaceable items and take them to Bob's house. Then back to church for a candle-light communion service which was beautiful. Today we helped Bob by cleaning and re-organizing his place to make room for Bobby's pictures. It was hard to leave Bob today but we are going to go back soon.

We had an uneventful trip back which we are very thankful for and now my son and daughter-in-law are here to be with us for Christmas.

One of Bob's sisters is married to "Buddy" who has UT everything, a gas pump, a pedal car and 2 curio cabinets full of UT collectables. They are such a sweet couple and were so hospitable these past two weeks.

Hope you are all well and blessed, will try to catch up in the next few days.

Pearls > Saturday 12/19/09 - My daughter-in-law Krista - She is such a sweetheart.

They just finished up on the roof, they had forgotten to patch some of the holes left by the scaffolding.

On the road in a few minutes...you guys have a great weekend and hug someone you love and tell them how special they are.

Be Blessed

Pearls > Friday 12-18-09 - It is cold and rainy and I am ready for Summer, just skip right over Spring and take me to 90 degrees.

Sorry I am so spotty with comments - things have been crazy this week. They are re-siding our townhome community and they started on ours on Monday - On Tues they hit a water line and we had water in the downstairs bathroom and foyer - Had a ton of eBay books that had to be moved, now we have a leak in the ceiling of Lisa's room - will it never end. We were supposed to leave this afternoon to go back to TN but are having to wait until tomorrow after we make sure that they tarp that portion of the roof. We are going to help my father-in-law sort through his sons personal things and make decisions on what to do with all his stuff.

This shot was taken inside in low light, I did crop and tweek the B/C a tad and the frame on this was picked out of the shadows on the petals. I find it quite facinating that we think we are seeing one color but when you use the color picker it often is a completely different one.

Only a few shopping days left till Christmas....go out and help the economy by buying something.

Will be MIA again for a few days. Has anyone heard from Bill Pador lately? I know that Dave has been under the weather but have not seen or heard anything from Bill for a while.

Hope you are all doing well and are blessed.

This was taken inside and the light was not great, I was not pleased with what I captured so I did a poster filter after cropping and tweeking the contrast.

It has been overcast and yucky for days and they are residing our townhouse - the last few days have been difficult with the constant banging and sawing but they are almost done and hopefully the new siding will help with insulation and bring our ele bill down. It already looks so much better.

Hope you are all well and blessed. And Thank You to all of you who have left kind comments, you cheer my heart.

Pearls > Tuesday 12-15-09

These are a few of the flowers we brought home to press; they were in drinking glasses and I stuck them in front of the kitchen window and turned on every light in the kitchen. After snaping a few shots I saw the monkey cup that is sitting in the window but thought oh well.

We are trying to recouperate from last week and the emotional exhaustion and trying to get a few things done for the holidays. Lisa, Austin and I are driving back up to TN to help their grandfather go through Bobby's things and make decisions about what to keep and let go of, so it will be another hard weekend but these things need to be done and he is not physically able to do it alone.

Hope you are all well and blessed. Call an old friend or family member you haven't talked to in a while.

Found this poem in my brother-in-laws things

The Maker of the universe
As man for man was made a curse..
His holy fingers made the boughs
That grew the thorns that crowned His brow.
The nails that pierced His hands were mined
In secret places He designed.
He made the forest where there sprung
The tree on which His body hung.
He died upon a cross of wood,
Yet made the hill on which it stood.

Well might the sun in darkness hide
And shut His glories in,
When Christ, the mighty maker died
for man, His creatures sin.

Pearls > Monday 12-14-09 - Happy Birthday Christy

This is Christy with her papaw, it was his son that passed away last week. Bobby was only two years older than Christy and they grew up together so this has been really hard for all three of my children.

It has been a fresh reminder that we need to make time for family and friends.

Thank you all for your kind comments and for your prayers, we do appreciate you.

Have a blessed day.

Pearls > Sunday 12/13/09 GRIEF

We are back, exhausted beyond belief but home safe and sound.

I will be uploading pictures for the family today and may not get a chance to comment but wanted to let those of you who were praying that we back.

Hope you are all well and blessed.

Take it from us, make the time to see and talk to your family and friends because you just never know when you won't have the chance again.

Pearls > Thursday 12-10-09 Shiny and Bright

Have been MIA for a few days - we had some bad news on Monday morning - my brother-in-law who was 39 passed away. We have just been devastated by the news; we were working to get the house cleaned up cause they were coming for Christmas. He went home from church, took off his shoes and laid down for a nap and never woke up. We thought it curious that he did not answer our calls Sunday afternoon, but he had a lot going on at church so we thought he was busy and he would call us back..

Our consolation is that he is present with the Lord and his mother and other loving family members. He had gotten way off track with his life but God was faithful and pulled him out of the pit he was in and changed his life in so many ways. We are so glad for that and we grieve and are missing him; but our peace is in the knowing that we will see him again.

Will be traveling for the funeral and will not have internet so I will be MIA again.. my posting has been so hit or miss this year with all the difficult things that have happened and I am praying that 2010 will be my year to get on track and truly be a daily poster and grow in my photography.

Hope you are all well and blessed.
